Elsie Tessier (nee Lange) passed away at the Michener Hill Extendicare at the age of 83 years on March 23, 2014.

Elsie was born in Poland on May 10, 1930 and immigrated to Canada in 1951. Here she met her husband Archie Tessier and married in 1952. They had one daughter, Marlene, in 1954.

Elsie was an avid cook, baker and gardener with a passion for sports; winning numerous trophies in badminton and bowling that lined her shelves. Her flowers and garden were the talk of the neighbourhood. After Archie passed away in 1992, Elsie volunteered at the Downtown House and sang with the Happy Gang Singers for many years.

Elsie is survived by her daughter Marlene (Alan) Fengstad; 2 sisters, Lili Thimian (Harry) and Alma Kohl; brother Harry Lange (Debbie); sister in-law Joan Lange; and numerous nieces and nephews. Many thanks to Elsie's dear friend Lorna Heemerycky for her kind care and dedication over the last few years.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the Red Deer Hospital for their kind care and also the staff at Extendicare Michener Hill for the tender and compassionate care they provided. A private family service will be held at a later date.
