<div itemprop="description">WATSON- Geraldine Diane (nee Grondin)<br />June 8, 1941 &ndash; April 19, 2016<br /><br />Geraldine Watson passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord in the afternoon of April 19, 2016.<br /><br />Geri will be dearly missed by her four children, David (Caroline), Diane (Gregg), Don (Birgit) and Drew (Wendy). She most enjoyed spending time with grandchildren Bruce (Jessica), Sonia, Dorian, Austin, Moraya, Carina and Julia. She was thrilled with the recent arrival of her first great grandchild Liam, son of Bruce and Jessica. Geri is survived by her former husband of over 30 years Wayne Watson (Cheri) and sister Gloria Rivait and family. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Sharon Barrette and family and brother-in-law Bruce Watson and family.<br /><br />Geri will be remembered for her love of her family, strong faith, and wide circle of friends who held a special place in her life. Her spirit was committed to giving to those in need and nurturing friendships. She trained as an occupational therapist in the 1980s and spent many years pioneering her profession and serving patients across the province of Alberta. After retirement, she spent several years in Kingsville, Ontario, reconnecting with her roots. Geri was a vital force in many people&rsquo;s lives, providing housing and emotional support to her community.<br /><br />A memorial service will be held on Monday April 25, 2016 at 1:00 pm. at Riverbend United Church, 14907 - 45 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Geri&rsquo;s name to Habitat for Humanity.</div>
