<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Honorable Judge Harry Hampton Aimé in Red Deer, AB on December 3, 2016 at the age of 98. <br> <br>Harry’s long and productive life began in Emerson, MB on June 17, 1918. Son of Janet and William Aimé, Harry worked on the family farm until he joined the RCMP at the age of 22. He achieved the rank of Sergeant during his 25 year career with the RCMP, which took him across Canada’s North and to various Alberta postings. In 1965 Harry accepted an appointment in Fort McMurray, AB as the first stipendiary Magistrate, which in 1972 was amended to Judge of the Provincial Court. Other appointments he held were Citizenship Court Judge, Judge of the Family Court, Judge of the Juvenile Court, and Marriage Commissioner until his retirement in 1988. Upon retiring, Harry wrote and published his parent’s biographies “Hazeglen Farm”, his autobiography “Overalls, Red Serge and Robes” and the manuscript “Magistrates & Judges Appointed to Fort McMurray 1923 – 2012”. Throughout his life, Harry was actively involved with the Freemasons, the Rotary Club, and the Anglican Church. He also established St Aidan’s house in Fort McMurray, a refuge for troubled youth. <br> <br>Harry is survived by his daughter Janet Aimé, step daughter Jean Boxer; sister Beth Aimé, grandchildren Michelle, Aja, Marlon, Donald (Lonnie), Sherri (Ky), Mackenzie, Harry, Chase; great-grandchildren Seth, Rocco, Jorja, Julian, Mason, Shyla, Shawn, and Coen. <br> <br>Harry is predeceased by his beloved wife and soulmate of 35 years Marjorie (Dec. 9, 2015), son Michael Aimé (Apr. 13, 2013) and siblings Maurice, Catherine, Robert, David and Edward. <br> <br>Harry’s Family want to thank all the staff on unit 3200 at Michener Extendicare, whose care for Harry was outstanding and greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to charity of your choice. <br></div>
