<div itemprop="description">Vera Jacobsen a long time resident of the E.I.D. passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Michener Extendicare facility on September 11, 2014, at the age of 97. <br /> <br />Vera was born and raised near Speers, SK and later moved to the Brooks area where she married Fred Bodie and lived in the One Tree/Millicent area. After the death of husband Fred, she later married Chris Jacobsen and moved to his farm in the Duchess area where they farmed and then retired to an acreage on the farmstead. Vera later moved to Brooks some years after Chris&rsquo;s passing. <br /> <br />In 2004 she moved to the Red Deer area to live with her daughter and be closer to family. In 2009 she moved to the Parkvale Lodge in Red Deer and enjoyed her life there. She had recently moved to the Michener facility after some medical complications <br /> <br />She was predeceased by her parents, brothers and sister, husbands Fred Bodie and Chris Jacobsen and son Marinus Jacobsen. She will be greatly missed by her children, Kirsten (Horst) Fandrey, Grant (Helen) Bodie, Karen Christensen, Gordon (Heather) Bodie, Glorene (David) Ellis, and Neala (Walter) Cook; daughter-in-law Merrilyn Jacobsen; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. <br /> <br />A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2.00 p.m. at Red Deer Funeral Home, 6150 &ndash; 67 Street, Red Deer. Interment at the Brooks cemetery will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gideons</div>
