<div itemprop="description">It is with great sorrow that the family of Chilota Ligad announces her passing on Monday October 24, 2016 at the age of 71. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her beloved husband, Lauro Ligad; her son, Michael Roy Ligad (Mary Grace Ligad); her son Richard Dwight Ligad and his girlfriend Almira Divina and his ex wife Sharon Ligad; her son Sheldon Troy Ligad (Melissa Ligad); her sister Corazon Quinto (Ramon Quinto); her brother Florencio Arce (Fe Arce). Cholita's greatest joys were her grandchildren Dylan, Christa, Keanu, Thai, Matthew, Giselle, her nieces and nephews and many more close family and close friends. She loved good, good company, performing arts, dancing, music, singing and being involved with the Filipino Red Deer Dance troop. She loved listening to and singing to Celine Dion and Whitney Houston songs. She enjoyed outdoor activities such as going on a picnic, camping, fishing and travelling to many places all over the world. Her kindness, infectious magnetic smile and love for people will always be remembered. <br> <br>Born and raised in Tarlac, Philippines by her mother Dionisia Ferrer Arce and her father Lorenzo Arce. <br> <br>Cholita attended Saint Louis University in Baguio City graduating in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She met her husband Lauro Ligad at church and got married in a Catholic Church in Tarlac, Philippines In 1969. <br> <br>Then they moved to Red Deer, Alberta, Canada in 1970 and raised three (2) boys there. She lived her remaining happy years as a lifelong resident in Red Deer, Alberta. <br> <br>Cholita Ligad's family would like to express their thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts, prayers, phone calls, cards and flowers. <br> <br>A special thank you to all the staff for their care and consideration and those family's and friends who visited and prayed for her during a very difficult time at the Red Deer Hospice. Your compassion and attentiveness to Cholita's care was greatly appreciated. <br> <br>A prayer service for Cholita Ligad will be held at Red Deer Funeral Home 6150 67 Street, Red Deer AB CA, T4P 3M1 on Tuesday November 1, 2016 at 7:00pm. <br> <br>The funeral will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 5508 48a Ave, Red Deer, AB on Wednesday November 2, 2016 at 1:00pm <br></div>
